President and CEO: Jack Mulvena
In 2013, Jack Mulvena joined Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens as President and CEO. Mulvena served for 20 years as the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Zoological Society and Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island. Jack is a national conservation leader with a special focus on education and motivating young people to get involved in wildlife conservation.

Jack is also a leader in the effort to persuade the United States Congress to pass legislation to address critical environmental challenges by strengthening and expanding environmental education in America’s classrooms. Most importantly, Jack knows from experience how to sustain the highest standards of animal care, offer compelling experiences to zoo guests, and create a professional working environment that attracts the top talent in the zoo profession.


Director of Animal Programs: Liz Harmon
Liz has been in the zoo field since 1984. She started her career as a keeper and has been in the curator role since 1991. During these years, Liz has worked in a variety of facilities accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) from small zoos to large institutions with thousands of animals under her care. Preferring the connectedness of the smaller zoo atmosphere, she is pleased to be at Naples Zoo. 

Liz has been involved in AZA animal management programs including serving as a studbook keeper and in management positions on numerous Species Survival Programs and Taxon Advisory Groups. She has served as an accreditation inspector since 2006 and is a member of the AZA Animal Welfare Committee.


Chief Operating Officer: Douglas Rickenbach
With nearly three decades of experience in the themed attraction industry including both Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks that see millions of visitors in a summer season, Doug brings a depth of professional experiences to insure guest satisfaction and safety including operating an Incident Command structure.  As the Chief Operating Officer, Doug also has oversight of maintenance and visitor service divisions including the Primate Expedition Cruise, Giraffe Feeding Station, online and in-person ticketing and membership sales, and the Group Sales Department featuring on-site events from weddings to corporate events.  Doug also coordinated bringing in third-party expertise for retail, food services, and camel rides. As a member of both the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, Doug uses a wealth of resources to continually grow and enhance guest experiences.

Director of Development: Marci Seamples
A Naples native, Seamples has spent two decades in the nonprofit industry, beginning her career in the arts and cultural sector and more recently as a chamber of commerce and business development executive. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Greater Naples Planned Giving Council. Seamples holds a BA from the University of Rochester and an MA from the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management/Carnegie Mellon University.

A 2009 recipient of the American Chamber of Commerce Executive’s 40 Under 40 award and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Collier, Seamples serves as President of the East Naples Civic Association, Vice–President elect of the Naples Press Club, and as an undergraduate interviewer for the University of Rochester’s College of Arts and Sciences.


Director of Gardens and Grounds: Danielle L. Green
Danielle is responsible for the development and management of the Zoo’s public and exhibit landscape and botanical education programs. 

A native of Virginia Beach, VA, Danielle has been working with plants professionally for over 20 years, to include 11 years as Curator of Horticulture and Environmental Initiatives at Zoo Atlanta.  Clients of her work have ranged from corporate office parks to residential communities to lowland gorillas, feisty giraffe, and Malayan tigers.  Seeking the eternal recipe for creating a destination landscape to transport each observer to their favorite oasis is the goal of each workday.  Danielle holds a BS degree in Biology / Horticulture from Christopher Newport University and is the president of the Association of Zoological Horticulture.


Dir of Conservation & Communications: Tim L. Tetzlaff
Tim coordinates the Zoo’s conservation efforts and serves on the boards of two conservation organizations and the Field  Conservation Committee of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. On the communications side, he serves as public relations and maintains the Zoo’s website and social media channels as well as writing and designing the interpretation graphics in the Zoo and printed materials. Tim loves the outdoors and is delighted to introduce others to its wild wonders as he hosts safaris for the Zoo to Africa.

As the son of Zoo Founders Jungle Larry® and Safari Jane®, Tim has built a life on communicating the wonders of the animal kingdom. Tim spent his youth working in the various departments of the zoo and in their wildlife park at Cedar Point including presentations with big cats.


Director of Finance: Cory Merrill
Cory joined the Naples Zoo in 2013 and serves as the Director of Finance.  He leads the financial operations of the organization, including responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, and payroll as well as grants and fundraising administration.  Previously, Cory was in the role of Accounting Manager with the Community Foundation of Collier County.

He began his professional career in public accounting with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, where he served as a Senior Accountant and provided services to public and private organizations in the practice areas of assurance, accounting, and taxation. Cory graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University, where he received both a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Taxation. Additionally, he is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. He lives in Naples with his fiancé.


Director of Human Resources: Brian Settle
Majoring in Human Resources and Business Management, Brian graduated from Eastern Illinois University and has served as the head of human resources/chief human resources officer with four healthcare systems as well as being a Human Resources Consultant.

Brian is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and a past chapter president of it as well as a past chapter president of the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration. He served on the Board of Directors for the Naples Area Chamber of Commerce. Brian has facilitated discussion groups at large meetings, presented at national and local conferences, and continues to consult and lead presentations on various Human Resources issues.
