Tour of the Caribbean Gardens
This Scarlet
macaw is one of the original animals introduced to the garden in
1969. She was hatched out just after World War II. Before settling
in at Caribbean Gardens, she traveled with Larry and Nancy Tetzlaff, the
zoo's founders, representing the South American rain forest animals as
they conducted their conservation presentations throughout the Midwest.
