2014 EVENTS

April 5:  Party for the Planet™ / AZA’s Annual Earth Day Event
The 2014 Party for the Planet hosted by the nation’s Association of Zoo and Aquarium’s accredited institutions promises to be one of the largest Earth Day celebrations on record! Millions of zoo and aquarium visitors across North America will party for the planet with family fun and a renewed commitment to wildlife conservation. This year Naples Zoo joins the party again by hosting a variety of conservation partners.

The animals at Naples Zoo will rip into giant papier-mâché eggs stuffed with their favorite treats – raw meat, insects and fruit.

Come celebrate International Migratory Bird Day at Naples Zoo. This annual celebration of the incredible journeys of migratory birds will be presented by three area National Wildlife Refuges: J.N. “Ding” Darling, Florida Panther, and Ten Thousand Islands. These local refuges will provide free materials (while supplies last) about the fascinating world of migratory birds as well as information on birding and great places to bird.

June 15: Father’s Day at Naples Zoo
Want to get rid of those half-empty bottles of cheap aftershave from previous Father’s Days? Dads can trade those for free Zoo admission by bringing the bottle to the Zoo on Father’s Day.

Why does the Zoo want aftershave? For the animals, of course. This annual call for cologne provides new scents for the animals to enjoy all year. Dads and their families will be able to watch the animals’ reactions to these aftershaves as the scents are used throughout the day for animal enrichment. If Dad doesn’t have aftershave to donate, some of Mom’s perfume will work, too. Otherwise, dads can take advantage of an online offer for free admission with child ticket purchase in place of cologne.

June 21: World Giraffe Day
Celebrate the tallest animals on Earth.

July 4-7: Independence Day Weekend
In honor of those who serve our country and Independence Day, Naples Zoo is offering free admission to all active and prior service military personnel. Military personnel receive free admission at the Zoo’s ticket box by presenting military identification or a veteran's organization member card and matching name photo ID. Plus, adult and child guests in their party can also purchase online tickets at $2 off regular Zoo admission during the weekend.

August 1-31: Emergency Workers Free
To show appreciation for the police, paramedics, and firefighters who help keep everyone safe, Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is offering FREE admission to emergency workers from August 1 – 31, 2014.
