WHY IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN COST FOR COLLIER RESIDENT FAMILIES?I LIVE IN COLLIER COUNTY, BUT I DON"T HAVE A FLORIDA I.D. -- CAN I GET THE DISCOUNT?
In the 2004 general election, the voters of Collier County agreed to purchase the land under and around Naples Zoo to allow the continued operations of their nationally accredited zoo and historic garden. In gratitude for the vote and to offset some of the Collier County taxpayer costs associated with this purchase, the Zoo offers a discounted rate for Collier County residents. More Info. The land was paid off years ago, but the benefits continue!
Yes. As a full or part-time resident, you qualify. Just bring in a photo ID and a local utility bill or property tax document with a name that matches the Photo ID.
I ALREADY PURCHASED A MEMBERSHIP. CAN I ADD A NANNY TO IT?
Absolutely. Members may upgrade a Membership with the Add-a-Nanny benefit for $20 for any or all of the remainder of your current Membership year. (Nanny expiration dates will match member's expiration date.)
I ONLY NEED AN INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP NOW BECAUSE THE CHILD I BRING TO THE ZOO IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND FREE. BUT THE CHILD IS TURNING 3 BEFORE MY MEMBERSHIP EXPIRES. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
There are three options depending on how many adults are in the family, how often you visit, and when during the membership your child will turn 3.
Purchase an Individual Child membership when the child turns 3.
Purchase a Family or Grandparent membership now to include the child.
Pay for the child’s entry using your member guest discount until your Individual Membership expires.
WHAT IF I PURCHASED A NANNY MEMBERSHIP & GET A DIFFERENT NANNY?
To designate or change the nanny for an existing Add-a-Nanny benefit, e-mail the membership office and provide:
1. Valid Membership Number
2. First and last names of both adults listed on the Membership
3. Mailing address for the Membership
4. New and Former Nanny’s first and last name.
I LIVE IN COLLIER COUNTY. CAN I BUY A REDUCED COLLIER MEMBERSHIP PRICE AS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE WHO IS NOT A RESIDENT?
No. This discounted rate is only available for Collier County residents. NOTE: You can, however, purchase a discounted family or grandparent membership to give as a gift for someone who does live in Collier County. They would just need to verify their residency when registering their membership at the admissions counters.
CAN I JOIN ONLINE?
YES! Click on the "Join Now" buttons on the membership page. Your receipt will serve as a temporary membership until your member packet is mailed to you and your cards are assigned at the admission counter. Bring your printed receipt with you to the Zoo.
WHEN WILL I GET MY MEMBERSHIP CARD?
Your official membership cards are assigned at the admission counters. If you have any questions, please call the zoo at 239.262.5409 ext. 135 or e-mail the membership office.
CAN I START USING MY MEMBERSHIP BEFORE I RECEIVE MY CARD AND MEMBER PACKET?
Yes, of course. If you purchase your membership online, you can use your printed receipt to help us pull up your membership. The admissions staff will assign your cards to you at that time. Your member packet is mailed to you. It typically takes 2 – 4 weeks after purchase for your packet to be mailed from our mail house.
DO I NEED TO SHOW PHOTO ID IN ADDITION TO MY MEMBERSHIP CARD?
No. We assign your member cards after we check your photo ID and take a digital picture of the primary member(s). When your card is scanned, the system pulls up your record which includes a picture of the primary member(s). If the picture doesn’t match the person standing at the register, however, the admissions staff may ask to see photo ID.
CAN I LEND MY MEMBERSHIP CARD TO A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?
No. This practice would be detrimental to the financial viability of the zoo and abuse like this would drive up costs for Zoo guests as it is the equivalent of stealing a ticket from the Zoo. Thus, as indicated on your card, memberships are nontransferable and are valid only for the person(s) named in the membership. If you have a regular baby-sitter or nanny, please purchase a membership for that person if they will be bringing the children to the Zoo.
CAN I USE MY MEMBERSHIP AT OTHER ZOOS?
For the most part, no. We recommend calling the other zoo and asking about their reciprocal policy.
CAN MY KIDS/GRANDKIDS VISIT THE ZOO WITHOUT ME?
Yes, all children or grandchildren named in family or grandparent memberships are members. If your grandchild visits the zoo with his parents, but not you, the admissions staff would pull up the record and the grandchild would enter free as a member and the parent(s) would receive the member guest admission discount.
CAN I ENTER THE ZOO IF I DON’T HAVE MY MEMBER CARD?
Yes, but it will make it easier for everyone if you bring your card.
HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHEN MY MEMBERSHIP EXPIRES?
